The 10/90 research gap refers to the fact that only \n10% of the world’s research resources are spent in lowand \nmiddle-income countries (LMICs) although 90% \nof preventable deaths occur in these regions: similar \ndisparities also exist in mental health research (1). \nA number of efforts have been made to address the \nmental health research gap, including establishment \nof priorities and funding for global mental health \nresearch (2).
