The conventional ZSVM6 method is implemented with six identical shoot-through (ST) time intervals for the quasi-Z-source inverters (qZSI). To further optimize the inductor current ripple, a new ZSVM6 strategy is proposed in this paper for the qZSI. The proposed strategy can limit the maximum inductor current ripple without changing the total ST time. The inductor current ripple will be smaller than the maximum inductor discharging current ripple in a switching cycle when the proposed ZSVM6 strategy is adopted. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy, simulations and experimental results are provided in this paper.
