Recent progress in the crystallization-induced phosphorescence (CIP) of purely organic luminogens and aggregation-induced emission active liquid crystals (AIE-LCs) with high efficiencies is summarized. The phenomena, photophysical properties, mechanism, and perspectives of purely organic CIP compounds and AIE-LCs are addressed and discussed.
