Cloud computing is a syncretic development result of traditional computer technology and network technology. The core idea of cloud computing is to manage and schedule huge computing resources linked by network and then provide services for users from computing resources pool. The birth and speedy development of cloud computing bring new opportunities to test field, which is the foundation of PHM-enabling technology for engineering system. Firstly, this paper discusses the requirements of applying cloud computing to test field from two aspects (hardware testing, software testing), and then presents a cloud-based architecture model of the automatic test system. In turn, the key technologies of cloud-based autotest are proposed. At last, the expectation, advantages and obstacles of applying cloud computing to test and PHM are presented.
