Abstract The energetics, structural changes, and charge flows during charging and discharging processes for pure and Y‐doped Li 8 ZrO 6 high‐capacity cathode materials are investigated by XRD, XPS, UV/VIS spectroscopy, electrochemical measurements, and quantum mechanical DFT calculations.
