Abstract The low‐oxidation‐state transition metal cyanides Fe(CN) 6 4‐ , Re(CN) 7 4‐ , Ru(CN) 6 4‐ , Os(CN) 6 4‐ , Mo(CN) 8 4‐ , and W(CN) 8 4‐ react with TiO 2 in acid aqueous solutions to form intensely colored brick‐red or orange complexes on the surface.
