Abstract The new compound (III) crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbca with Z = 8. The compound consists of discrete Bu 4 N + cations and V5O1 3‐ 4 anions which each contain five tetrahedral vanadium(V) centers in a nearly trigonal‐bipyramidal arrangement.
