Chemically functionalized phosphorenes and their use in the water splitting reaction

Phosphorene (few layer black phosphorus) has the potential to be an efficient catalyst for H 2 evolution from water splitting reaction. This perspective highlights functionalized phosphorenes and explores their use in catalytic H 2 production.
