This monograph is a combined publication of three workers with involvement in radiation protection in a University or Polytechnic. The introduction specifis that the monograph is aimed at radiation protection staff and research workers, giving the reader guidance that this text will be of limited value to medical users of phosphorus 32. This is further reinforced by the outdated reference to use of this radionuclide for red cell volume determination, where isotopes of lower radiotoxicity have replaced 32P. Nonetheless, this monograph is reasonably comprehensive, easily readable and is a well balanced presentation which attempts, quite successfully, to incorporate current regulations for radiation safety.
