Analysis on surveillance of polio laboratory in Hebei Province 2003-2004

To study the surveillance indicators in polio laboratory of Hebei, to Survell VDPV or wild - type poliovirus in time. According to WHO's normal method to isolated virus and neutralization test, intratypic differentiation test was carried out to all AFP isolated using PCR- RFLP and ELISA methods. All the surveillance indicators in polio laboratory of hebei met the requirements of WHO and MOH. There were 743 stools which collected in 2003 - 2004. All stool. samples were also made viral isolation by, L20B cell, RD cell and Hep - 2 cell. 67 polioviruses were isolation from AFP cases. 74 of nonpolio enteroviruses (NPEV) were also isolated from AFP cases. Among 79 isolates, 8 of type I vaccine- like viyuses, 24 of type 2 vaccine- like Cruses, 20 of type 3 vaccine- like viruses, 15 of mixed viruses, 7 of vaccine- like viruses mixed with enteroviruses, 5 viruses were identified as mutant viruses. Then ELISA test was conducted, cording to WHO manual, among total 107 single serotype viruses, 104 of sabin-like viruses (SL), 3 of double reaction viruses (DRV). No wild polioviruses or VDPVs were found in Hebei. maintaining a nopolio wild- type virus status in Hebei.
