Analysis of Dermal Allergic Test of Cephalosporin Antibiotics Based on Packeage Inserts

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the status quo of the dermal allergic test of cephalosporin antibiotics and bring up feasible suggestion in order to ensure the safe medication.METHODS:A total of 27 species 42 specifications of cephalosporin antibiotics were collected from our hospital from 2010 to 2012,and the contents about intradermal test were summed up by Excel 2003.Simultaneously literature data were reviewed to explore the status quo of the dermal allergic test of cephalosporin antibiotics.RESULTS:Among package inserts of 27 species 42 specifications of cephalosporin antibiotics,the procedure of intradermal test was only listed in package inserts of Cefotiam hydrochloride for injection.It was recommended that intradermal test should be performed before medication in package inserts of 7 species 10 specifications,accounting for 23.81%;all of them were Cephalosporin for injection;suggestions about severe allergic reaction of cephalosporin were found in package inserts of 13 species 19 specifications.CONCLUSIONS:Before using cephalosporin antibiotics,detailed history of allergy should be acquired firstly and cephalosporin antibiotics should be used strictly in accordance with package inserts.Whether intradermal test of cephalosporin antibiotics has been done or not,severe allergic reaction should be the first precaution even intradermal test is negative.
