An optimized switching control scheme to reduce the backflow power and the peak current of the dual active bridge converter is presented in this paper. Based on a triple-phase-shift modulation, the control scheme consists of operating the switching devices with three optimized control variables on the basis of achieving a decreased backflow power and peak current. This can enhance the converter efficiency and reduce the current stress on the switching devices. The optimal values of these three manipulated variables are obtained through analysis of different operation modes. Besides, the power transfer ranges and soft-switching constraints are also explained in detail. Experimental results are presented to validate the feasibility of the proposed method.
