An Examination of Relationship between Social Capital and Organizational Creativity According to Teachers′ Perceptions — Yener Akman (2017) | RDL Network
The purpose of the study was to examine teachers’ perceptions of social capital andorganizational creativity and to explore whether there is a significant relationshipbetween these variables. The study adopted a correlational survey method in thestudy. The study group of research was composed of 297 teachers. The data werecollected over the Internet and social capital and organizational creativity scales wereused. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, multiple linear regression, andconfirmatory factor analysis were used for analyzing the data. According to the results,the perceptions of the teachers’ were relatively moderate level about social capital andwere also relatively high level about organizational creativity. It has been found thatinterest, interaction and participation dimension of social capital and the individualcreativity dimension of organizational creativity have the highest average values. Theresearcher found significant correlations which were relatively low, moderate andstrong among the dimensions of variables. In addition, it was observed that socialnetworks and interests, interaction and participation dimensions function assignificant predictor of individual creativity; norms and values dimension functionsas a significant predictor of administrative creativity, and all dimensions of socialcapital perform as significant predictor of social creativity. Also findings showed thatit is advisable to develop policies about interaction, trust and democraticunderstanding among school staff. In addition, the relationships between variables canbe reexamined by mixed or qualitative methods
