For pt. I see ibid., vol. 40, no. 10, p. 732-44 (1993). In a companion paper, we have shown how Chua's oscillator is topologically conjugate to a class of 3D systems. In this paper, we use this result to approximate other chaotic systems in the literature which are not necessarily piecewise linear.
