The 13th March Structural Mechanics Laboratory was established in 2015 by Prof. Dr. Hakan Yalçıner within the Department of Civil Engineering at Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University.
The laboratory was founded with the aim of advancing research, education, and innovation in structural mechanics, earthquake engineering, structural performance, durability, corrosion of reinforced concrete structures, and strengthening techniques. Since its establishment, the laboratory has supported numerous undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral research projects while providing advanced experimental facilities for national and international scientific collaborations.
Named in honor of 13 March, a significant date in the history of Erzincan, the laboratory serves as a leading research center dedicated to improving the safety, resilience, and sustainability of civil engineering structures through experimental and analytical investigations.
