Besides site-specific risk factors, there is a significant link between neuroendocrine neoplasia and cancer in general, pointing to a shared cancer predisposition.

Male workers in AFFH are at high risk of suicide mortality, and casual and fixed-term contract workers are at exceedingly high risk. Our study also suggests a higher risk among single, highly educated and long-hours workers. Female workers in AFFH do not have an appreciably increased risk.

What is the state of psychiatry and mental health in South Africa - how far have we come, and what remains to be done? What is the role of an organization like the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG), and of a journal like Mental Health Matters? I'm delighted to have the opportunity to share some thoughts on these questions in this editorial for Mental Health Matters. I want to argue here that the development of consumer advocacy for psychiatry, with a focus on mental health literacy, has the potential to be a major breakthrough for the field. A local journal aimed at primary care practitioners, and edited by one of the world's largest mental health consumer organizations, is a clear example of the enormous value that consumer advocacy can bring to the field.

Once-a-day oral agomelatine is a new, efficacious alternative option for the treatment of anxiety in patients with major depression.

E-cadherin (CDH1 gene) germline mutations are associated with the development of diffuse gastric cancer in the context of the so-called hereditary diffuse gastric syndrome, and with an inherited predisposition of lobular breast carcinoma. In 2019, the international gastric cancer linkage consortium revised the clinical criteria and established guidelines for the genetic screening of CDH1 germline syndromes. Nevertheless, the introduction of multigene panel testing in clinical practice has led to an increased identification of E-cadherin mutations in individuals without a positive family history of gastric or breast cancers. This observation motivated us to review and present a novel multidisciplinary clinical approach (nutritional, surgical, and image screening) for single subjects who present germline CDH1 mutations but do not fulfil the classic clinical criteria, namely those identified as-(1) incidental finding and (2) individuals with lobular breast cancer without family history of gastric cancer (GC).

The staging heuristic is a useful model for anorexia nervosa in terms of providing prognostic information and stage matched interventions. Although the evidence is encouraging, further research is needed before a similar model could be applied for bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder.
